H100i and FX8350 Problem - Page 2

I run the same setup. At 4.6gz (and some change) I'm at 1.46 volts and around 59 - 60c at max load. So everything sounds to be about right. I'm also using Arctic Silver 5 and have OC'd 7870s in xfire so my system is very close to yours.

How are you going about OCing AMD is tricker to OC then Intel, my 3570k was alot easier to get to 4.7, then the 4.8 of the FX8350, the trick is mixing blck and Multiplier and NB, the average is 1.5-1.55 to get it to 4.8, just got lucky in the silicon lottery.

Since I had no experience OCing AMD at the time I used this guide: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MckeAmnDeTk see if that helps.

I don't get that high idle with my 8350 and H60. May I ask how you applied TIM, small dot and not spread? And what are you monitoring your temps with? Are you sure you are looking at the core temp and not the socket temp?

Thank you for the video.

Thanks!

Picture of desktop. 1 core failed after 40mins. HWmonitor open and CPU-z

Tim i used small dot. Socket temp 60c, core temp 51c. LLC set to ultra high, all power saving functions disable, turbo disable. Using multiplier only. HT link and NB not touched

If you think something is off try resiting the H100i, to me those temps are within normal.

Cheers

Cages out. Will re-run prime95 to see how loaded temps are.

You will notice a bigger diference on the Cards Temperatures then the CPU, but it will also help. Cheers

When overclocking my 8350 I noticed temperatures rocketed when raising LLC, I really had to back off from using it so much

Sorry if this has already been covered but how's the stability when leaving the multiplier at default, raising FSB and lowering other clocks, RAM and HTT etc? I could not get a stable overclock at all using multiplier, but then I do have a much weaker board.
