Building a new rig - Need advice. - Page 2

Link to thread where you describe the issues you are having?

These builds were good, but it seems mostly unnecessary unless you have a very specific reason to upgrade to haswell.

That was my post a few months ago about my issues. It's a consistent problem that I experience whenever I do anything on my computer. Even when I'm trying a URL I can experience a lag spike with the letters I'm typing. Any kind of video I watch will freeze, but the sound will still keep going forward and then once the visual is done lagging it skips to line up with the audio. Whenever I play Diablo 3 it have a very repetitive lag spike that happens every 10 seconds or so. It's a very short lag spike, but it remains constant with the other lag spikes I experience when typing on my computer, playing games, or watching videos. Oh, and when I play League of Legends the audio of the announcers stutter. For example, when the announcer says something like "double kill" they say "dou-d-d-double kill."

Ideally, if I can, I would just upgrade the components I just listed on my last post. But, I have been pretty fed up with the constant lagging my computer has and was debating on just completely starting from scratch.

Memory: G.Skill Sniper Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-2133 Memory
Storage: Sandisk Extreme 120GB 2.5" Solid State Disk
Video Card: EVGA GeForce GTX 770 2GB Video Card
your seasonic X750 is sufficient to run two 770s in SLI. a 550 watt will run any single card/gpu configuration and a 750 watt will run any SLI/Xfire setup including overclocking.

I have made arrangements with a friend to sell him the good parts from my current computer. This is going to allow me to make a new computer and help a friend save some money (a win-win for me).

My plan now is to build a computer close to the one Kazakia posted earlier. However, I'm going to keep my Silverstone Raven 2 and Seasonic x750 power supply. My only main concern is using a h100i cooler with my case. Would I have to do any modding to get that cooler to fit?

i'll keep everything except the gpu. go for the 7950. if problem persists, then start looking at other components. at only 1100/1575, it matches a 7970 GHz edition.
