Hi guys,

I am currently looking for parts for my first decent PC. I was looking for a long time at the saberthooth but now i have my eye on the Maximus VI formula.

Which one is better or are they each good for diffent things?

Thanks

You must really like the Thermal armor, but they both will perform the same unless your going to be cooling your PC via water then i'd say grab the Formula. But I would advise you to just grab a UD4 less expensive and you get the same performance .

Hmm - both are high-end boards but as I understand it the Sabertooth is cosmetically different due to the motherboard cover. This might help though:

Good luck. smile.gif

Yeah,

I think it looks great...
At the moment I am quite new to this so i won't start watercooling. (I will, but with a prebuild one)
So then the Sabertooth is a better choise for me?

Yes I believe the Sabertooth will be the better choice.

Anything with a better warranty is usually made with better no nonsense parts. The Maximus vi Formula is not part of Tuff series boards and does not get the 5 year warranty that the Sabertooth series gets. Anyone who builds water cooled computers for a living knows you dont use aluminum, it corrodes with dissimilar metals and doesn't cool as efficiently as copper. The Formula uses an ALUMINUM water cooler for the vrm and you have to use special coolant to try and prevent this if you want to use the water coolant option, better off just using air on this board, nice try ROG looks arent everything. The Sabertooth does better than the Formula on all the bench mark reviews anyway. Not to hard to figure out which board is better.
