Need some help with filling, bleeding and draining.

Hai guys,

So I bought a pair of these little fellas:

Alphacool cape fuzion core 10...

I'm currently still in the process of slowly getting stuff bought for a future watercooling build. So I'm trying to get stuff planned out ASAP. biggrin.gif

My idea is to actually place the res horizontally near the bottom of the case, of course over the pumps (Dual loop setup).

Now here come the problems:

I need some insight on filling, bleeding and draining.

I want the res to be almost 100% (if not 100%) filled, do to this I'm thinking of using a 90 deg angle upwards then a fill port on top.

Obviously, In order to be able to bleed the loop through one of the inlets/outlets I cannot have the res fully filled, can I fill it up to a point to leave the filling inlet free (about 3/4 filled), then when it's properly bled add the remaining coolant up to the top?

Now to add a drain port, I can always add a T line between the pump and the rad with a valve on the end right?

Thanks.

cheers.gif

You could maybe have the reservoir tilted at an angle while filling it up. Only issue would be on how your having the coolant intake setup. If the tubing is going to be tight, your obviously not going to be able to tilt the reservoir up.

And yes, the T-Line can be placed between the pump and rad. Just make sure that the drain valve is at the lowest part of your case. I have a radiator right next to my drain valve, so in order for me to get the DI out of the radiator, I have to tilt the case a little. rolleyes.gif

Well, the reservoirs will be bolt onto the bottom of the case. Even if I can't tilt the res, I can tilt the case, same for when draining.

I just wanted to know if there's any problem in adding more coolant after the loop is properly bled, from what I think of, it should not create any more air bubbles if fill the res slowly to the top.

Thanks for the input. thumb.gif Also, I take that from what I researched I will be fine with Laing DDC-1T Plus (18w). Right?

Yeah, you shouldn't have any issues topping off the reservoir. Tilting the case when it's full of coolant would be a bit scarey though, lol. As for the pump, any DDC pump will be fine, just understand that they're more noisy in comparison to the D5 pumps. Although I read that they give better heat dump and flow pressure which is good.

Got it. I'll see if I can add something to dampen the vibrations from the pumps...

Thanks for the help. thumb.gif
