Instant crash on Prime95

Well, I nearly have everything together on my new build(just extra case fans and a card reader left), so I tried to play some games to test everything, which promptly crashed. After testing the GPU with no errors, I tried Pime95, and it instantly crashes. Sometimes, it BSOD, others it just reboots.
Everything is on default settings just out of the package, so unfortunately I think I got a lemon with either the processor or MOBO. I'm hoping it's the processor, since I just sent in a rebate for the MOBO, so I'd have to go through ASUS. The reason I'm suspicious of the MOBO, though, is it gives me weird options for memory speeds, and has the turbo set to 4.3 GHz rather than 4.2. Anyways, I have a few pictures of voltages and things, so if someone could help me figure out which, if not both, is the problem, that would be great! Thanks!

Specs:CPU:AMD FX 8350
MOBO:Asus m5a99fx pro Rev 2.0
PSU:Corsair CX750M
Graphics:Sapphire Dual-X Radeon 7950
Cooler:Hyper 212 Evo

Edit:On second thought, since it might be the MOBO, this should probably go in General rather than CPUs, so if a mod sees this and could move it, that would be good.

try to set everything to default setting in bios and you have the AI Suite II software which could overclock it for you. i Tried to do that and then try to add a little more power to it through bios and i had the same kind of numbers in memory configuration so i would set to default on the software too. and then restart computer and see if that works.

Huh, it seems to be working now. Literally the one thing I changed is moving from the default standard setting to the Asus optimal. I'll let Prime run it's course, but yeah. The CPU Bus went from 216 to 200. That's good, I guess, but based on that, am I probably going to be pretty limited on overclocking this chip? It's not a huge issue if so, but I would be rather disappointed, since the limits of my OC experience is K10Stat on my laptop, which isn't exactly detailed.

You wont get too far in terms of overclocking with a 212. Maybe 4.5 if lucky.

I'm thinking more in terms of voltages and such. Cooling is much easier to upgrade later than the full board and/or processor.
