i5 2500k OC help? - Page 3

Reducing it to +0.15 brings it down to 1.380v. because the Vcore is set to 1.380, so if I set the DVID to 0 and left it at 1.380V. I'm afraid with the vdroop it won't be enough.

So is where it's at okay?

4.5 GHz should really only need about 1.35V (give or take a little).

Try voltages even lower than that too because every CPU is different.

is there a vdroop compensator in your bios? It your choice to use it but most people recommend it for ocing.

Alright! Just got off of work so I could tinker a bit again.

Lowering the Vcore from 1.380, to 1.370, dropped the heightened core voltage to 1.365 on a full load.

Will also be tinkering out with lower voltages, but as of now. I can run BF3 on high (AND Ultra as of now) at 60 fps with the cpu usage around 60-75%, where it would normally stutter around 30fps and cpu usage at around 90.

I'm going to try and stream in a little bit to see how that plays out.

I recommend using a much lower voltage. Like start shooting for under 1.35V in Windows while the CPU is under full load. Ultimately though, you really need to test your computer's stability with Prime95. You'll know it's stable when you can get Prime95 to run a lot longer than about 12 hours.

some people have renamed theirs for haswell fyi

Some P67 and Z68 boards (and even some much older boards) use the simple name "vDroop Control", but most use "Load-Line Calibration" or some variation, or even "LLC".
