not sure but every DRM like Uplay gets hacked at some point. They are a perfect target for people who store their credit card info in them for "easy" purchase. I never store my CC info anyplace and use paypal whenever I can.

Excuse my ignorance but I don't remember steam or origin being hacked and taken down for anywhere near that long. Individual accounts being hacked? Sure. The whole service for an indefinite period of time?

If you don't care about the MP portion of the game this might be one of those instances where acquiring a "back up" copy, after purchasing it, to avoid this nonsense might be a reasonable idea.

Steam and the rest of them get attacked all the time but they may or may not make a big deal of it. Origin was attacked awhile ago but it was not shut down like uplay was. I got a message about it via email and they said that they were able to stop it before it was an issue. Then there are the big boys like Sony and the playstation mess awhile back. All them will get attacked, they are a prime target. Having a physical copy is fine but for players like me the games are worthless without the MP aspect. There is only so many times you can play the same missions knowing exactly when and how the enemy will attack. So if the DRM gets shut down it is a total loss either way. You will have a nice drink coaster though if you have the physical copy. All I am saying is all these online accounts will get attacked at some point. No need to get all upset about it unless you store your CC info on them. That is why when the playstation mess happened I was not worried. I did not use my real date of birth or name for anything in my account.

I don't are about the MP. It just seems like a Dark Souls type of thing where other players "hack" into your game. Not really sure why they decided to do this. It would have been fine being SP only. Like I said, a way to hide their DRM while grinning from ear to ear as you hand them your money.
And if I remember, Uplay did have pre order bonuses. I think they had a vehicle pack, an extra mission and other stuff. But now it seems to be gone from the site.

I swear Uplay is the worst thing ever created. Not even GFWL is this bad.
The games you buy and activate are tied to that account, and there's no way of merging two accounts. You can't even change your Uplay name!
I have HAWX 2 on one account, and Far Cry 3 on another. There's no way of merging both or transferring one to other. If I delete one, the game on that account is rendered useless, and Steam doesn't allow you to buy a game twice for yourself. Ugh...I don't even know if I'll still be buying Watch Dogs now. I can't deal with Ubisoft anymore
