Considering Intel, I think.

Not sure yet still considering my options,

But I have a few simple questions;

Is the 4670K worth $13 more then the 3570K? Especially when you take into the consideration of overclocking?

From HERE what is a good board for overclocking and watercooling? Oh must have SLi and or Crossfire for two cards.

From the above retailer, what would be some sound ram as well?

The main use of the computer is gaming but also includes some photo and video editing but only minor stuff.

The question isn't whether the $13 more for the chip is worth it, more to the price difference between the entire rig, as motherboard prices vary.

I'd recommend getting Haswell to be ready for the next upgrade if the price difference is minimal.

This is good quality RAM, from your chosen retailer

1) I'd say it's worth it, it's best to start fresh with a new platform unless it's totally out of your budget. In which this case it doesn't seem to be. Haswell overclocks fine, just you need adequate cooling to push the clocks farther.

2) Without a definitive budget on what you are trying to spend, it makes it difficult on what motherboards are good for "overclocking or watercooling" but if I wasn't on too tight of a budget I would choose either: ASRock Z87 OC FORMULA, ASRock Fatal1ty Z87 Professional, Gigabyte GA-Z87X-OC, or the Gigabyte GA-Z87X-UD4H. All packed full of features, great for overclocking and watercooling. Both have SLI and Crossfire capabilities.

3) For memory from that retailer, I'd go with an 8GB kit of G.Skill Ripjaws Z DDR3-2400, since you are only doing minor photo and video editing you really shouldn't need more than 8GB.

Thanks for your help thumb.gif I didn't put a budget, because I wanted to see what people would recommend.

I was hoping to get away for less then $600 AUD, that way I could get a new waterblock etc. I will just need to save a bit more biggrin.gif
