HD 7870 is better than a HD6950. The 7870 is a great card for 1080p performance. HD7950 is excellent performance at 1080p maxxed settings and higher settings with lower detail.

For your case, I would go with the HD7870.

EDIT: You really don't need to upgrade since their site lists a recommended GPU of at least a HD 4870. The HD6850 is better than that. I would wait until the game comes out and test your current graphics card. If you don't like the performance at 1680x1050 resolution then go for that upgrade.

huge differemce in gpu power, but your cpu might hold it back. if you're in the US48 the gtx760 is a much better buy than the 7870 right now. they are very close in price.

You will need to update your Rigbuilder, lol! tongue.gif

That will certainly max out graphically, but your CPU may hold you back, likePureBlackFire stated earlier, and may cause drops in framerates during large battles.

OP you could consider the XFX HD 7870 Tahiti LE from aria uk . comes with 4 free games. dual fan cooler.

the VTX HD 7870 Black edition, PCS+ HD 7870 MYST, Club3d HD 7870 XT joker are all the exact same card manufactured by TUL corporation and use the Tahiti LE chip. the single fan cooler is not so good. gets loud and hot especially with overclocking.

HD 7870 Tahiti LE is twice the perf of HD 6850. can play most games maxed out.
