Another "Which RAM" thread?

Thread Starter
Guys, need some suggestions. My requirements:

DDR2800, 2x1GB, under $275 for a kit, Cas 4, and obviously highly OC'able.

I'm thinking Patriot Extreme: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820220144

I've never used Patriot mem though and am not sure. The motherboard is an ASUS P5B-E with an E6300. My goal is to hit the 3 gig barrier and possibly 3.2.

Please advise!

Those aren't the D9 A-DATAs

it should be CAS 4.

I'm sure Patriot LLK is a decent RAM but IMO, I think you should invest another $15 for the RAM and go with the Crucial Ballistix 2GB DDR2 800 for $290, at least we know for a fact that those have D9s.

SaII; that RAM link is not entirely accurate anymore, they have the Super-Talent with D9s but they no longer have D9s, lots of things have chance since the beginning of November.

Atlas101; just to be in the safe side the Crucial would be a better choice.

From the Ballistix 800s would you invest another $20 to get the Ballistix 1000s?

it doesnt really matter, you can if you want but youll get that speed for that voltage out of the 800's, i mean look at the timings its the same chips they just loosen the timings and ad some voltage to make sure they work which is what youll be doing anyways, i have the ddr2800 kit and its outstanding, very good ram
