Shafers explorer service systems

I have no idea where else I would post this, but, I figured that this would be the most convenient place due to the nature of this program. I have been having problems with running this programs client install on a new laptop at work(windows 8), I map the network drive but the drive does not show up in the drive selection part of the client.

Help please :[[

Probably this is due to UAC, which can't be disabled in Windows 8 (one of the many reasons I hate Windows 8).  If the program that maps the network drive (or creates a virtual drive) is running as standard user, any programs running in elevated mode (like an installer) won't see the mapped drive (and vice-versa).

I'm glad that helped you pinpoint how to fix it!  If your registry tweak isn't specific to your particular program, would you mind sharing it with us?

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE>Software>Microsoft>Windows>CurrentVersion>Policies>System

Find EnableLUA and change the Value to 0

Really the only way I could make it work. Though the change makes some things unusable due to uac being off, I can change it as I go from home to work as I please.
