[OFFICIAL] Linux Gamers Club - Page 52

Hello, I'd like to join the Linux Gamers Club biggrin.gif. Here's my "application" (if you could call it that):
1. Distros: Ubuntu, Linux Mint, Debian, and I've dabbled with SteamOS and ArchLinux (don't include those two if you don't want).
2. Main games: Minecraft, Kerbal Space Program, League of Legends, TF2, Half-Life (all of them, I got that one bundle biggrin.gif), GMOD, Skyrim, and I own many others that I haven't really had time to play (or that don't work either natively or with WINE).
3. Level of experience: I use the command line frequently and run my own Minecraft multiplayer server, but I still consider myself somewhat of a novice...

My Steam name is sopwerdna.

Thanks, hope to be able to participate in this thread and answer questions, etc.

STAR CONFLICT

Playing very fine with Elementary OS:4 Gb DDR2 800, GPU NVDIA 1 Gb, CPU pentium dual core 2.80 GHZ.

Running only trough steam, I couldn't find the way to install it without steam platform.

I play War Thunder too with PLAYONLINUX/WINE (not supported on linux yet, only windows & MAC OS), but doesn't work very well.

I've been considering trying Elementary OS, but I heard it's not very polished yet... How has your experience been with it? Are there things that don't work or aren't stable that you think would work better in a more mature OS? And would you recommend using it?
Elementary is one of the "polished" and it's mature because it's Ubuntu..

I've elementary OS installed in a notebook for several months (awesome, never had a problem), and in 3 differentsdesktop pcs (server, testing and main home pc).

I've only problem in my main pc installing wine, but for the rest is very stable and friendly (not solved yet).

I recommend to try eOS, for my is very useful and

My preferred distro is KaOS but can't install steam an playonlinux because only supports 64 bits.

I hope it help you, just try and tell us :-)

Good game, have had it for a while now....

Can I join, sorry i thought it was sort or autojoin f you have been talking a lot about linux games and providing links.. redface.gif

My usual distro of choice is Linux Mint 64bit (im running 16 + 3.14 kernal ) and the DE is XFCE with compositing turned off and catalyst 14.4 installed (currently the fastest setup I have found)

The games i play most are CS:source (zombie revival biggrin.gif) and Killing floor

Recently purchased Eldritch which was a good bit of fun but unpromisingly hard.

My hardware is just a simple A10-5800k with 8gb RAM and a 30gb SSD .. nothing fancy.
