I have the xspc bay res pump combo and I was wondering if I can put the kill coil directly into the res or would it run the risk of getting sucked into the pump

There's a simple solution for that: forcing the coils to open up a bit so they are wider, so they are JUST wide enough to barely fit through the threads. They won't be small enough to fit through your barb/compression fitting as the thread will add a bit of area.

Although you already got a kill coil, if your interested in replacing that with something more durable and lasting, I definitely recommend the Monsoon .999 Fine Silver Bullet.
