differences between suse 10.0 and 10.2

is there a difference in the 2 kernels. and since i have 10.0 could i just download the updated kernel for it and update it to 10.2.

typically there is more to it than just the kernel, the desktop environment versions are usually updated, along with any other application that has an update for the bundle, bugfixes, security updates, library updates, stuff like that...
