condensation on fittings

Thread Starter
Hi all

I have a quick question about condensation on fittings. I have insulated my mobo fine with no issues but I am finding that there is condensation building up on the compression fittings and also on the cpu block.

Initially I used Armaflex tape to wrap all the fitting, cpu block and tubing but im finding that condensation is causing the tape to peel off on the fittings. The tubing is ok just the fittings. Maybe I need 2 layers?
Any ideas of a better solution?
Cheers

You could buy some small-ID pipe insulation and put that over the fittings.

Cool cheers for that. I think the problem was that i had small area's on the cpu block not covered by the armaflex and the condensation creeped in from there.
What ive done now is to make sure every possible area is covered properly. I've also use silicone rubber to totally seal the block and mobo. Extreme I know but I don't wanna risk blowing anything up.

With my chiller set to 4c 5.2 was easily reached with max load temp of 65c using only 1.508 vcore

I'll let you know how i get on once it's up and running again thumb.gif

For a less messy method, I suggest art eraser. It's great for weird shaped areas like fittings that you can't cover easily with a regular tube or sheet.

It peels off easily without leaving any residue, and I was able to remove my processor from my fully insulated sabertooth it in just a few seconds, then I kneaded it back up and reused it.
