Can't get stable

Thread Starter
This is kind of weird. I cannot get stable at all at 2.6GHz. I can get into windows and start running Orthos and it'll run for like 10 minutes and windows will lock up. Windows locks up and Orthos is still looking good lol.

Here are my settings.

FSB 260MHz
vcore 1.425v
2.5-3-3-7
5/6 divider (DDR333)
vdimm 2.8v
HTT 3x

The weird thing is, when I set my timings to auto, they default to 2.5-3-3-6, and amazingly, windows is stable enough to get a CPU-Z, but it crashes pretty soon after. AND if I set my CAS Latency to 3.0, windows won't even boot.

My last DFI board OCed like a beast, and I dunno whats up with this one. I hope I'm doing something wrong.

go check out your secondary memory timings. usually DFI will try to run too agressive.

Lol.

Nice try. I know this thing is stable at 1.375v @ 2.6GHz. Besides, I've had it cranked up to 1.6v and still not stable.

I have had pretty much the same problems as you trying to get my cpu overclocked. I can't get past 2.53 ghz stable. I tried different kind of timings and vcores. Doesn't seem to do it. I checked that my FSB on the mobo are not limiting me but I got it cranked up to like 350 and then I gave up because I knew it wasn't the board. Same board as you

Its the weirdest thing. At first I thought it was my ram, but seeing that you have G.Skill, which is one of the brands of ram for DFI boards, that pretty much rules ram out.

The thing is, I can't even get 2.5GHz stable. And its crazy that a $75 Abit board can overclock better than a board that cost twice that.
