HD 7870 worth the £60/$90 difference from the HD 7790?

Hi everyone,

I'm looking to upgrade my graphics card, i currently have a Nvidia GeForce GTX 550 Ti and it works fine for what i'm doing. I'm just looking for a little upgrade to make it possible to run 3 monitors. I'm just wondering if the 7870 is worth the extra £60/$90 or should i stick with the cheaper 7790?

Thanks.

7790 is a good choice for a nice bump up, but if you're willing to spend more, 7950s are going as low as $200. There are other 7950s that are selling at $220 too, I would recommend go for a 7950 because they are at such a killer price.

For single GPU performance at 1920x1200, I think the 7790 is ok, but if you want all the extra graphical options, you're going to want the 7870. Like the post above however, the 7950 is at a good price point, and will be better future-proofing.

Thanks for the replies, I never thought of looking at the 7950's as I thought they'd be a lot more expensive. Nevertheless i'll look at the 7950's now. Thanks.

Edit: I've had a look and they seem to be about £210 + i'm not sure what that is in dollars but it's a little over budget, could you link the cheaper ones please? If not don't worry.
