Upgrading my 570 to 760

Now I do not have any brand preferences (amd or nvidia doesn't matter to me) what I want is he best perf for the $.

My current gpu is gtx 570 and it's starting to show it's age. Got it over two years ago.

My main problem with my 570 is the vram is too low at 1.2 GB, and in gta4 + mods/texture mods, it starts to crash and have massive texture popins.

There seem to be more games optimized for nvidia, so that's a plus.

I'm looking at gtx 760 4GB cards. They seem well priced imo and 2 extra gb will help.

Which of the 4gb 760 do you recommend ?

The extra 2GB won't help unless you plan on running 4 cards and like doing a LOT of mods...

Hey thanks for reply. Do you mean 4 monitors? If so I do not plan to use this on more than one monitor ATM or near future.

I'm using a 1080p TV. But I'm planning to use a lot of mods + high res texture mods and I don't think 2gb vram will be enough. I get more enjoyment modding the game than actually playing the story (lol weird huh?), so I need the best card for this and don't mind paying a lil extra for double ram version.

That gpu you linked is almost last gen now because AMD should be coming out with their newer cards in the fall(?), so I don't want to be stuck with that frown.gif , but it's cheap. Gon do some research now about that 7950...

Nope, I meant 4 cards. 1-2 GPUs, maybe even 3, aren't going to have enough processing power to utilize 4GB any once you do have enough power to utilize 4GB you're likely going to want a larger bus.

760 is really no better off than a 7000 series radeon. The gen doesn't matter much as the 760 is still using the GK104 core as the 600 series. The 7950 will be better off than the 760 for your needs really if you really do plan on doing a lot of mods. And I'm talking about 80+ mods

You could wait to see what AMD releases in the fall and see. But IMO, there is no real way to justify a 4GB 760.

Try to get a GTX670. They are on sale for very close to GTX760 price and are faster.
