Sudden high ping when downloading a torrent?

A week ago I had my previous Wispstation 5 changed for newer Nanostation Loco M5 and noticed a huge increase of ping when downloading torrent. I can download files via browser with no problem whatsoever, but when I'm downloading a torrent I get ping cca 200ms to my router D-Link DIR-655 even if I download at half my maximum speed. The internet is unusable and it takes like 30s to load Google. I have my upload speed usually capped at low level so this is not the case. I don't use any QoS or port forwarding. I'm connected via ethernet cable to my router. The Nanostation is "behind" my router, so I don't know where's the problem and why it appeared after I changed them (maybe coincidence?) I basically cut off anyone else on my network when I am downloading. Any suggestions?

You should check the maximum number of connections in total, and the maximum connections per torrent. Try lowering them.

Turn torrents off, use them at soical times ie overnight? rolleyes.gif

Usualy this is casued by either bandwith saturations (up or down) or connections (both ram useage or router bawking)

Lowering of maximum of peers didn't help. What I don't understand is why all of a sudden my router became a bottleneck of my network. I mean, when I used to download before I could see where the ping increase was, as I have network monitoring constantly opened (program called pingplotter) which shows me current ping to any of my ISP's devices, except of bridge stations.
