Supported Linux gaming is relatively new. There's going to be growing pains/issues/whatever.

Nope, it's DX9 in Windows and OpenGL in Ubuntu.

It's not that 13.8 is not going to fix it, the problem is that it broke it.

I installed 13.4 and problem solved.

13.8 is a BETA Driver. have you reported it here?

The irony is a few months ago i would have said that Nvidia's Drivers are more stable but AMD offer better value for money and if you know about computers there is no reason not to get AMD as problems are ussually easily fixed, as a result your getting a faster GPU for less money and you have an excuse to tinker with it. biggrin.gif
So much so that i built my Mothers rig with a GTX 650TI, thinking that she would never have problems and i would never need to fix it.

Oh.... how i regret that! rolleyes.gif

Oh ok I get it now. Well I haven't had any negative issues with 13.8 yet. Sure one may pop up with my luck.

Problem submitted. By the way, how well does your CF setup scale under 13.8?

We got a very weird report that "Hawaii will start being mass shipped in October" but I'm skeptical because the wording is very vague: 'we got it from "upstream supply chain"'. What does that even mean? I'm very skeptical when someone uses such general and almost weasel-like words (upstream what? AMD? A storage room? The guy that unloads boxes? Who?). If they don't have the guts to say "AMD source" or at least "[OEM name] source", I'd take it as speculative.

I'm sure that we might see it posted as a thread.

Ah, a glimmer of hope: DigiTimes is Taiwan based and deals exclusively with technology. That means, they might have TSMC sources. Still skeptical.

so what I've learned from reading every single page is that the 9970 will not be as good as the titan (then again what will be), around the same cost/performance as a 780, will probably include 8 or so games. And then Maxwell is coming out sometime late next year, which will obliterate everything AMD out of the water as it would seem. Huy, the decisions... Get gpu now, or wait till late next year...
