Scaling with frame pacing down to 80% from the 100% from GPUs. That is excluding CPU parts in fps. 3Dmark11 went down 50-100points if I remember correctly. Anyway doesn't seem a huge decrease visually. Is very smooth visually though, in benchmarks anyway.

I don't think we know anything really.

People just discuss hypothetical situations.

'Funny' thing is, we aren't even 100% sure they will release it in October (it's just the most likely).

And then Maxwell is coming out sometime late next year, which will obliterate everything AMD out of the water as it would seem. Huy, the decisions... Get gpu now, or wait till late next year...

wait till Oct to draw conclusions. right now its expected that Hawaii is a significant improvement over Tahiti and also a much larger chip produced on TSMC 28nm. with rumoured benchmark leaks that show Hawaii being 40% faster than HD 7970 Ghz its still unknown as to whats the real improvement.

we know there is a press event going to be held on sep 25th

http://www.brightsideofnews.com/news/2013/8/7/amd-to-launch-gpu-codenamed-hawaii-in-hawaii-sept-25.aspx

generally the retail launch would happen to 2 - 3 weeks later to give the reviewers enough time to prepare launch day reviews and to allow AIB partners to have products ready on shelves.

I installed 13.4 and problem solved.
Dx9 isn't supported yet.
Not sure about openGL though

doh.gif But they don't have to break the existing support neither doh.gif

How hard it is to add stuff on top of the existing stuff without breaking it?

They have rewritten a huge chunk of the driver software, I'm not surprised one bit that something broke. They are not simply adding onto it(for the most part, at least), that would take even more time and cause even more issues.

Yeah I posted those two first in this forum. I know.

By the way, the second source ("Charlie") said he expects it to be released someplace in Q4 2013. However, I do not know if he meant AMD confirmed that to him or it's just his impression.

It does seem likely that they told him but it's so vaguely written I'll assume it's unconfirmed but still with a higher probability that it will happen.

Notice how this thread was never moved to the news section. It has 3 independent confirmations from AMD. I had made that aware to moderators more than once.

Good point, this one does need moving, this is not a rumor, this is confirmed.

It's pointless now. There are many threads about it today. I just pointed out reality.
