is my motherboard damaged? or something else? a lot of reading

Thread Starter
I know this is a lot of text to read but i beg you guys to help me, im on the verge of throwing this pc out the damn window.

So let me explain whats going on.

So first thing is first, the only upgrades i added to the pc was a ssd drive, and a new psu.
The problems im going to explain didnt happen right after these upgrades, but further down the road.

i want to stress that my pc ran perfect a few months ago and even after these upgrades.

so the first issue
headset

this problem was the first to occur and now it is just unbearable.
so while gaming within 10 minutes of the game my sound will cut out. when i minimize and go to my sounds it seems like the headset is frozen,

the volume bar will stay in a stuck position until either i disable/re enable the headset or turn it off and back on.

i will have to completely restart the game for the sound to return.
so basically i can only play 10 minutes of a multiplayer game before i have to restart.

ive tried reformating my pc, every usb port, different headsets, different usb cords, updating the firm ware. and still cannot figure out whats wrong.
and this doesnt happen with my speakers, just headsets.
i use no wireless products to cause interference

Problem number 2, which just recently started happening.
Ok, so i play in surround and havent had a single issue with it until lately.

Now this problem is a bit harder to explain
the first thing i noticed happening is when i open a program or close a program, such as bf3, the middle monitor will stay on but the two side monitors will say "hdmi no signal".
a few seconds later the two side monitors will turn back on with picture.
now what ever i can live with this.

but now what happens is ill turn on my pc, bios will pass, windows loading screen will come up. and as soon as the desktop is about to load ill get "hdmi no signal" but i can still hear the windows welcome sound.

so the only choices i have is to either hard restart, or turn the psu on and off.
which once i do this the same thing will happen except the bios resolution is off( and if i enter bios it will be completely black except for a small square in the middle, but i can still move around and exit, save, ect. i just cant see what im clicking) and the window loading screen isnt the windows 7 loading screen. its the old one with the green bar.
the same thing will happen "hdmi no signal"

the only way i have found around this is to turn off sli using my motherboard, i can turn individual cards off. load up my pc and re enable surround. and sometimes i cant even enable surround because it will say only two of the three of my hdmi cables are plugged in.

i have tried different drivers, different hdmi cables, each card individually(no problems).

ASUS Rampage 4 Extreme
i7 3930k @ 4.4ghz
Tri 4gb 680 sli
12gb ddr3 1333mhz
Samsung 840 pro 256mb
Samsung spinpoint 1tb
Corsair axi 1200w

Weird problem. Take one card out and try using your pc for a day or two with just 1 card and see which problem reoccurs - the headset one or the boot one.

If running only one card doesn't give you any of the two problems then we know its some sli issue. Now it could be your psu, mobo or maybe also something wrong with the cable which goes from the psu to the gpu. Try using different 8 pin one with just 1 card and see if the problem happens, if it does, its the 8pin or 6+2 pin power cable.
