Constant startup loop. Advice would be awesome!

My setup

-i7-3820 @ 4.6 Ghz (watercooled)
-Gigabyte GA-X79-UD3
-GTX 680 (watercooled)
- 4 x 4gb of corsair ram
-AX1200i
-Crucial 256 gb SSD w/ windows 8

Problem
Today I was cooking for my children when I saw my computer reboot. It then started to do the login screen loop. It would not enter windows and just restart over and over and over and over.
-I tried to repair using my usb win 8 install drive and it does about the same thing. It just loops and restarts. pic #1
-I installed a mechanical drive and tried to install windows 7. it does not get past pic #2
-I am able to enter my bios. tried default settings.
-Its just a constant lop no matter what I do.

-This i have I have tried.
1. used different sata cable and different port
2. used different HDD drive (know to be working)
3. used different usb thumb drive
4. disconnect everything from the i/o port
5. tried different gpu (know to be working)
6. disconnected everything except 24 pin, 8 pin cpu power and gpu power connector
7 . installed 1 stick of ram (from different pc, known to be working)
8. cleared cmos
9. replaced mobo battery

So im basically down to the last three things.
bad CPU, MOBO, or PSU.

Any advice before I start to pulling this thing apart (its watercooled so yeah a pain)?

I've had something similar to this happen to me. I would recommend turning off computer, unplug PSU from wall, hold down power button, clear cmos, and restart buttons in different intervals for over one minute, disconnect CPU power on mobo, do the same with the buttons again, finally unplug 24 pin and do the same with the buttons. Good luck and I hope you get it fixed. smile.gif

It already had the newest bios. I flashed it about a week ago.

Worth still trying it?

My bad just saw Windows 8 pic. Windows 7 pic didn't load up for me. And only read the "What you tried" section.

It's probably motherboard related. Otherwise CPU failure, which is very infrequent.

I got the mobo back last week. I got the same problem. I RMA'd the cpu and now I installed the replacement. In the end it was a bad cpu
