USB Microphone to 3.5MM mod, Can anyone help?

Thread Starter
I've had a decent sound card for a while and a USB condenser microphone. I wanna take the 2 data wires from the USB and splice them onto a 3.5MM jack. I just simply wanna know if this is possible or not. I've found 2 things that border on the lines of this but don't hit the mark. I just don't wanna solder anything onto the board encase I break it, it works find now I just wanna see if I can get more control out of it.

This post got me thinking about this possability

The 2 youtube links further the concept

While it is possible to "take the 2 data wires from the USB and splice them onto a 3.5mm jack," it will not work when you are done.  This is because the USB signals are digital, and the 3.5mm audio signal line is analog.  Additionally, the USB circuit would need 5v power, which the 3.5mm analog line would not supply.

Now, inside the microphone control circuit, the signals from the microphone element itself are analog, and they could be functionally connected to a 3.5mm jack (or plug, which would save you a patch cable).  However, you would need to find the exact connections on the circuit board and know what you are doing.  If you're serious about this, and can do soldering without messing things up, I may be able to point out the connections for you if you open the little USB converter box and post a picture of what it looks like inside.
