NZXT H630: Is I the first to post?

Thread Starter
I picked up this case from a reviewer............. WHite / No Window.

Been in love with it since I saw the first pics; loved it even more once it was in front of me; am on cloud nine since I've been installing my hardware and doing the wiring.

Things that I really love about this case:
The finish! The paint is a phantastic change after so much anodized aluminium.
Lots of room! With a Prolimatech Genesis and MK-26 (both black), a full sized RAID card, 7x 3.5 HDDs, an SSD, a standard BluRay drive, and a slim one combined with a hot-swat 2.5", my PC is pretty much packed.. Yet no problems with the cabling.
2x 3.0 plus 2x 2.0 USB plus a cardreader, plus audio is as much as you can expect on FP access.
The sideways arrangement of the HDD cages, and that you can remove them as needed. 3+2+3.

I am a bit ambivalent that the hdds are removed from the right side of the case. On the one hand one needs to remove the power&data cables to several drives to remove the one. On the other hand you only need to remove only one side panel.

With all the love for this case, I do see a few draw backs.

The Front Panel jack on the right side. Yes it provides for a nice clean front view, but it can be annoying some users. My favorite choice would have been in the horizontag ventilation gap (the black plastc bit part of the top lid.

The two 2.5" mounts under the mainboard tray, are a great idea. But how on earth does one get power there?!?!?!?!?!?!
I am already running two SATA power strands from the PS to the hdd cages, plus a third one up to the 5.25" bay. It would be great if NZXT would offer a combined power&data cable for bot devices at least to the grommets. At least power cable extension. Not for free, that's for sure. This way, I must use two 30cm NZXT SATA extension cables.

Powering the hdds is also a challenge. Of course you can use the standard SATA power strand of your PS. But that is extremely messy with the extra slack. Using a strip like the Silverstone CP06 is great. Except that here you have 3 drives in one bay. And the gap to the fourt drive in 2x bay is greater than the 43mm available.......... So custom cables it is!!!

Maybe I am just too thick (stupid) to grasp the genius of the "fan controller"?!?!?!?
I cannot detect any thermal sensor, other than one my be hidden in the Front Panel assembly. There is no description I could find anywhere. From following the cables, all I can tell is that power (12V) is routed via a 4pin Molex connector to the FP. (The 5V feeds the rear I/O LEDS.) From the front panel a voltage (controlled or 12V??) comes to the small circuit board (under the mainboard tray). There one can connect up to 6 or 8 fans.
I tried using this gadget, but found that connecting the fans to my mainboard was more effective/cleaner.
Can anyone tell me if there actually is a controller, or is this just hype and we actually only have power distribution???
I've tried to remove the connector from the front panel, but have come to conclude that this connector is actually soldered to the board......

Those of you who know me from the CM ATCS840 thread: I do still think the ATCS840 is the greatest case ever built............. to modify!!
The H630 is the best case to leave as it is.
That is my two cents worth.

Now some pics of the not yet completed build:

Is no one else on this thread? Has anyone used this case for a complete Water cooled build? were the intake vents big enough to keep things cool enough?
Hello guys, modern to update you, I have a full watercooled build in my new h630 black and its pretty nice. Yes. just 2 corsair sp120's with the 7v reducer on them noth on my front 240 rad pull a ton of air. No problems for airflow. When I finally get everything siuated ill upload some pics. I hope to start a h630 club here on ocn

I'd like to subscribe to that owners thread whenever / where ever it shows up. I'm interested in this case but concerned that the top/front panels are too restrictive for good airflow. So I'd like to get a sense of how well the case works in practice from folks using it.

Working on the club page right now! Look at my h630 review here...

Airflow is fine from intake front and top, front a little better in my estimation but top is usually exhaust anyway, still possible intake though smile.gif
