TWo things off the top of my head:

1. Hibernation? Is it disabled? Do you still have the hibernation file showing in windows explorer?

2. Virtual memory - how big is the page file?

Also, whensuing windows explorer to look at your files, go to the file options and check to show the hidden and system files....that should help seeing the hibernation files and any other hidden files.

if you click on Users, then your primary User name, right click on AppData. how big is that? also in disk cleanup remove shadows copies

My 60GB SSD got full from the Users>AppData file. Even though I was storing games, progs, etc. on other hard drives, they all make folders on the C drive for different things. I eventually had to give in and get a larger SSD.

AppData: 1.5gb, disk cleanup: cleaned 654mb, hibernation is off, completed seans optimization guide, paging is off, before I reloaded windows it showed 75% free space. It also showed near full after first boot...

Go to control panel and then to Folder Options. Check the box for "Show hidden files and folders" and UNcheck the box for "Hide protected OS files".. Ok and exit.
Then open C drive and see what's taking the space. I guess it will be "Program Data" folder or some files with .file extension just there.
