Help with H80i/corsair link/RGB LED

Thread Starter
hello,

I have had my Corsair H80i for about a year now.. always worked perfectly no problems.. one day i bought some wire sleeving to improve the aesthetics of the box, and during the installation i had to unplug pretty much everything...

so, after getting everything back together I booted up, and found my corsair LED to be green (constantly), and in the corsair link, green was not a color I had set for my LED...

I messed with sliders in corsair link, trying to change the color, and no matter what i select the LED always has a strong greenish hue to it... I read a few other threads on here, and other forums of people having the same problem after installing new corsair link software, but I have done no such thing.

Other than the LED the cooler still works fine, Corsair link does as well, reading the pump, fans, temps, etc. correctly.

any help or advice would be appreciated. Happy to answer any questions if more information is needed to help fix this issue.

before sleeving, blue LED

After sleeving, constantly green

Have you tried to reinstall the software, also, have you viewed the led with your case lights switched off? Maybe they're interfering with the colour

I appreciate the reply (REP+)

I reinstalled corsair link software twice with no change

also yes, I viewed it with lighting off, I even covered the block with my hands to view it (thinking that the green sleeving might have somehow been interfering with it)

It isn't of any real concern considering I have seen no performance change... idle temps mid 20's, and burn test/ full prime95 temps around mid 80's... gaming temps high 40's and low 50's
all on a 4.8 overclock to the 3570k

also through the corsair link i have some user defined fan settings that all still work fine. really this LED issue is more of a frustration than anything.. I used to have it set up to change colors with the temp of the processor, but now sadly its just always green, and moving sliders or changing setting for the LED in corsair has no affect, other than changing the hue of the green

Seems unlikely but maybe the Leds inside the unit are damaged

you are not the only person. i had my green (and alot of others) led die. can only change between red and blue, so i wonder if your blue and red have died? or another thing i havent seen you say you tried was, have you tried moving the link connector to another available usb header pinout? just a thought, gl!

Yeah, when I uninstalled the software for corsair link I moved the USB to a different header... Then reinstalled the software, no change frown.gif
