ASRock Z87E-ITX RAM question

I recently got an ASRock Z87E-ITX, but I'm a bit cobfused about its claims to support between (DDR3 2933+(OC)/2800(OC)/2400(OC)/2133(OC)/1866(OC)/1600/1333/1066 non-ECC, un-buffered memory) does this mean I have to buy DDR3 1600 RAM then OC to higher speeds, or purchase higher speed RAM (i.e. 1866, 2133, etc) and OC to allow their higher base speeds to kick in?

Haswell is only 'officially' supported up to 1600.
The platform has the capability of running much higher but it's not 'official'.

So it's a CPU problem not a MOBO problem. Does this mean I'm free to purchase RAM at higher clocks, or should I not bother.

Have at it, they should be able to operate at rated speed/timings for whatever kit you planned on getting.
