Recommend me a laptop for college

Thread Starter
My budget is $2500
The screen must be no greater than 14 inches.
It must not be prone to overheating. *very important*
resolution above 1440x900
Noise is not an issue.
Upgradeable CPU/GPU are a plus.
No HP laptops.
multiple ssd/hdd combo are preferred.

Thank you! thumb.gif

I jsut bought the folowing for my GF:

T430s
i5 32**
4GB DDR3
500 7200rpm
Nvidia Quado nvs 5200
14" 1600x900
Free slot for Msata

paid 1150$ for it and it come with 3 years waranty from lenovo (good solid laptop)

You jsut add a 256GB msata SSD, 16GB of ram, and the i7 version and you still save about a 1000$ which you can buy the docking station and dual screen for when your home!

Sager NP7330
13.3" 1080p
i7-4700MQ
GTX 765M
16GB RAM
TWO 240GB Crucial M5 SSDs
750GB 7200RPM (get whatever the hell you want here)
IC Diamond Thermal Compound
Intel 7260 WiFi (supports 802.11ac)
A SPARE BATTERY, WHY NOT?
Windows 8

$1809. The spare battery is $100, might actually want that. And the SSD's were $460, a bit overkill but hey you said $2500. Absolute most power you can buy at this size.

If you don't want power, look into Sony VAIO Pro or Sony VAIO DUO. Both are 13.3" 1080p touchscreens, the Pro being the thinnest and lightest laptop ever, while the DUO being a convertible. But with Intel i7 dual cores and intel HD4400 graphics, don't expect to play any games. But they definitely have enough power for regular stuff.
