1440p on 560 Ti 448?

Thread Starter
I currently don't have a monitor (using my 39" tv atm) and I'm looking to buy one of those korean 1440p monitors. The thing is, I'm currently running a 560 Ti 448 and I doubt it has enough juice for proper gaming on a resolution like this. I'll be buying a new computer when I move to a different place, which should happen relatively soon. Now what I wanted to ask is how well would a 560 ti 448 fair, in the mean time, on a 2560x1440 resolution? Things like Battlefield 3 are probably out of the question but I can live without playing triple A titles for a month aslong as I can play games like League, Smite, etc..

Expect a roughly 30-40% performance hit when switching to 1440p from 1080p.

However in 1440p you can turn of AA completely as you will not need it as much as in 1080p.

You will be fine. There are people with lower GPUs over at 1440p+ Club and they are fine.

Grab a stronger GPU in the future for sure though. But yeah in the meanwhile you will be fine.

You're in the exact same position I was like a year ago. I did it for quite some time. I would say that my

5850 @ 1080p was similar to my
560 Ti 448 @ 1440p
I could still play on HIGH settings like I had my 5850 on my 1080p resolution.

I had my clock at... 890 i think... You can see it in my old sig rig pics!

I think you're fine. Play first, upgrade the GPU later. It's not a slouch just touch off the ULTRA and disable all AA and it should perform excellently on high.
Congrats on 1440p! It's awesome!
