Just wanna get opinions to verify..

Just wanna get opinions to verify that no problems would come up with this set-up besides the pressure that the pump may face.


here's a rough plan for the watercooling loop that I have in mind.


I got a multi-in/out reservoir, pump is still under debate on which one I should use (probably gonna use a D5 pump)

So my main goal is to let CPU and GPU act like separate loops without using two pumps and reservoir to save space and money as well. and since I got a multi port reservoir I thought that may be I could use T splitter right after the pump, then it would push water thru two tubes one passing thru the CPU and another to the GPU each having they're own radiator. Temp wise, I believe it should perform just a tiny better against a traditional single loop, two blocks config but not much but I just like the fact that the liquid wouldn't be as warm while passing thru the 2nd block (whichever it may be) when using a traditional single loop.


Please tell me what you guys think, just wanna verify and another nice thing about this set-up, if I were to remove the GPU to upgrade, I can close out that part without much trouble and keep the CPU loop in tack.


or I may also get another pump making it two pumps/1 res configuration instead. that would cost me 80bucks more but would it be worth it?

How are you going to control the amount of water that goes to each of the two tubes?
Even if you could get it to split, say 50/50, the blocks and rads would be only getting half of the flow rate for which they were designed.

I agree with billbartuska, it is a good concept but they wont get enough flow impeding the performance.

I would try the 1 res 2 pump config.

The half a degree that you save on the water going into the GPU's by not running it through the CPU first is lost to the lower flow rate to both, and potentially more with the lower flow through the radiators.

It would work OK ... most modern CPU blocks and GPU blocks are close enough in restriction that each would get flow but it just looks messy and is not really of any benefit.

If changing components its always better to just drain the loop, its not that hard and should be done semi regularly anyway. Better than wrestling with trying to drain half a loop and having water precariously held back, looking to find a way to dump itself all over circuit boards that then need hours of drying.
