Odd Numbers When Overclocking

4.6Ghz was reached! I am trying to go for 4.7Ghz now. I remember reading a while back and I want to verify if it was still true or if ever true but you should try to stick to Ghz such as 4.2, 4.4, 4.6 and so on. 4.5, 4.7, 4.9 end up having negative returns because of the number. Thoughts?

Bogus!

Back in the single Core / DDR2 days half multipliers were sometimes an issue, but new memory controllers and unganged memory fixed that.

Nope! I have been running my 2700K at 4.5Ghz for month now and I have had no problems. Pretty sure CPUs don't care about the exact number of your overclock!

Nice overclock BTW! What temperatures/voltages are you getting?

I have not gotten a stable OC for my 4.7Ghz yet. I think so far though my max temps have been like 70-81-75-72 @ 1.36v.
