A newb with a simple question.

Thread Starter
Greetings all,
Seing how it's stupid question time i'd like to take this oppertunity to ask you how far i can (safely) push my GeForce FX5200 64bit 128mb video card. I plan to use RivaTuner..
The coreclock right now is (the default) 250 MHz, the memory's at 333MHz.

I'm thinkin: 275MHz++ and 366MHz++

I have a similar card with the same clocks.

I recently modded my cooler and added AS5 and screwed a fan onto my heatsink.

So far, I haven't overclocked with this super ownage cooling setup - however, my previous overclock results have not been too promising, lol.

Stock: 250MHz Core
331MHz memory

The max I went up to was 280/350MHz and I only got a ~2FPS increase on CS:S stress testing results. I might try 300 core and 400 memory on Christmas Eve before I format the HD and prepare to give the PC to my brother

Edit: WELCOME TO OVERCLOCK.NET! I hope you enjoy your stay

ok you should check out 3Dmark03? or 02 if there is one and run a bench at stock then overclock and see the difference
I think there is only one way to find out....just keep pushing it man, as long as it dont artifact (spelling?) or get i think its 90 deg C for all cards, may be wrong though but its certainly for most cards anyway.

Hey dude

I use XtremeG drivers from somewhere. They're optimised for the FX series

Anyway, my latest overclocking results..

Current clocks are 302/402MHz on core and memory respectively.

Average frame rates in CS:S stress test were 39.91FPS! That's a +9FPS increase from stock clocks. Not too shabby!

My latest test crashed though. Gonna run another one and see what happens.

Uh, you should REALLY get the 84.56's. They even beat the Xtreme-G's by distances...

I have the same card on AGP though, 289/263 right now...
