SYSTEM
MSI 790FX-GD70
Phenom 965 X4
Corsair 16GB (4x4) 1333 XMS3 timings are 9-9-9-24
windows 7 ultimate 64bit

New ram installed, boots into windows, loads core temp and restarts. Tried 9-10-9-28 and still no go. Even loading into windows itself takes longer than the old ram (8GB 2x4 XMS3 1333 timings 7-7-7-20).

What is the issues? What timings should I run? Ive tried 1T and 2T as well for both timings. If I loosen them up, what should I run? It seems it is a timing issue as the reports I read up on for a bad stick wouldnt even let them get to windows load screen.

Thanks for all the help smile.gif

Bad RAM maybe? Tried running and MEMTEST86+ with one module at a time to verify they're good? 1333 9-9-9-24 isn't that aggressive of a timing, I'd suspect a bad module before anything else.

Ran the memtest individually: One had absolutely no errors. One did not post anything. One had 2 errors on test 5. and the last had no errors. Put in the first good one and windows loaded but froze. Put in the last one that posted no errors and it rebooted within 15 seconds of windows load. Doing an RMA and also contacted both MSI and Corsair about the issue. First time having an issue with Corsair. Told the buyer (owner of said computer) to switch and possibly try G.Skill. Going to see what both companies say. Thanks for the help smile.gif

Sure it's not your motherboard or processor?
