I was looking around NZone today, and something caught my eye on the Bf:2142 page.

Don't try forcing AA (anti-aliasing) using the Driver Control Panel. Battlefield 2142 uses its own AA method. Use the in-game AA to squeeze all the juice from your GPU.
Seems interesting. since BF2 and 2142 use the same engine, I'll have to try it out and see what kind of difference it makes. I've been forcing 2xQ with RivaTuner.

It's not the exact same game engine. There are quite a few differences in the way it renders. You should only force AA on games that can't enable it

Exactly. I have in fact noticed that if you try to force AA on BF2, you get no AA at all. But if you set it to application preference and 4X in game, it works fine.

That's weird, I force AA fine with a big difference. I'll try some different settings here in a sec with a few screenshots, so we'll see.

You do get AA in BF2 but if you notice the main screen and scopes are all messed up and 95% of the time the text is Anti aliased and unreadable

It's the strangest thing, I've never experienced anything like that.

Screenies are below. I had several other shots fro mdifferent places in the map, but for some reason FRAPS lost them. In that shot, very little difference.

EDIT: Hold on... RigShowcase isn't taking the PNG's....

OK, pics are up:
