I don't see why you can't split two DIMM slots into four SO-DIMM slots. That is one of my biggest complaints about mITX - two RAM sticks only, even if it is SO-DIMM. (That and only one PCIe slot. Why can't I have two x4 slots side-by-side with extension cables on an APU board? But that's for another time and place.)
Now, the component itself, I'm not sure how good it is. I mean, yes, one GB/s is great, but that's only 33% faster than SATA III and ties SATA Express. The small form factor is also great but largely unnecessary. The only cases that will care about space would only have two RAM slots anyway since I'm assuming you want mITX in your ultra-compact build. I suppose those with mATX and four RAM slots would benefit, but not by too much. BUT, DDR4 supports up to, what, 4000 MHz? That will give the speeds a significant boost. And that's 400 GB on a single RAM stick!
