My laptop does not have a DVI output, I have HDMI, miniDisplayPort and the usual composite output.
How should i connect monitor to a laptop, to get the maximum resolution?

Do i need MiniDisplayPort to DVI Adapter to get 1080p ?

I try with adapter MiniDisplayPort to DVI - still no luck.

Please assist ..

What ports does your monitor have? Is it an Asus PB278Q?

I would say mini display port to display port - capable of 1440p

I think your 780M will have a hard time gaming at full resolution due to the 256bit memory bus.

Yep, i have PB278Q
Ok, i try with new adapter miniDisplayPort to DisplayPort

And why this PB278Q don't want to show 2560x1440 try with Mini DisplayPort to DVI adapter ?

Your DVI cable might only be single link.

If it works at 1080p at 60Hz and no higher then it probably is a single link DVI.

I buy HAMA MiniDisplayPort to DVI Adapter (24-5 pins), supports Dual Link DVI; compatibile with Thunderbolt technology.

:-(

Cable ? I received it with the monitor, tested on the desktop, working there at full resolution ..

I tried to change the resolution in the nvidia control panel, set by hand 2560x1440 resolution, after applying the changes i received 2560x1440 resolution, but screen is completely washed out, total lack of focus.
