Like others have said we arent all rolling in money, and frankly the idea of shelling out $600 for a single graphics card isnt exactly good value is it.

There's some of us that don't swim in money, though... So having something with some decent performance for relatively cheap is something to appreciate.

When referencing that cars are cheaper than gpus that's a sign that someone's priorities should be in a different place. There already are cheap gpus that give one helluva ROI, ergo the 7970 especially at its currently silly low price. Posting in a thread about a top end product wanting it for next to nothing is not realistic, thus the sentiment, get a job. Imo, the new card will be more expensive but it's not stupid expensive like the Titan is. Even given that, you can't hope to expect to get it for what 400, 500? C'mon...

Well to be honest AMD clearly need to learn a thing or two about their pricing policies; hence that *beast* of a chip FX 9590 that retails at £700.

Also since when is $500 next to nothing price? Thats alot of money, even to people with a job.

First part, the price deals with limited supply hence higher price, so not quite attributable to main line products. Second part, I agree $500 for a part is a bit pricy for most but somewhat reasonable if it is high end top of the line.

Im not bashing any product just because it might end up out of my price range or it may cost more than im willing to spend. Some people on OCN seem to think if you indicate a product is too expensive for you then that automatically means your saying its crap. Thats not aimed at you mind, just for here in general.

It just depends how much it ends up costing I suppose, im looking at picking up a 1440p monitor, which will cost me at least £250 probably £300, couple that with a gpu thats gonna cost at least £300. £600 is alot of money considering 99% of the time ill just be playing battlefield 3 and 4.
