Dual Monitors in SLI: Want to use one at a time...

Hi ...

I've been using a Samsung 850D 1440p monitor for about six months now. I love it and it rocks for just about all games other than competitive FPS, which I find it too laggy for (CS:Go, etc.).

So I'm going to buy a 144hz monitor to run in a dual monitor set up and was curious how to go about setting this up under my SLI'd 670's ...

The scenario:

I only want to use one monitor at a time: in other words, if I'm using the 1440p for Skyrim then the 1080p monitor will be turned off; similarly, if I'm playing CS:GO on the 1080p monitor, then my 1440p monitor will be turned off. In other words, I'm not interested in using them both simultaneously.

As I understand it, I simply plug both monitors DVI cables in to the primary card, correct? And I'm assuming I would indicate which monitor gets focus from within Nvidia's SLI configuration applet?

Just running this by folk as I'm going to be purchasing the monitor mount and second monitor today...

Thanks for any comments.

That's actually a rather ingenious solution... LOL ...

But I'd rather just hit a switch and click a mouse than get up and walk around to the back of my computer...

So is there a way, in a dual monitor set up to make one monitor the primary focus of the GPUs processing power?

you can run them in the same card or you can put one monitor connected to each individually.
not sure which configuration gives you more control over the other.

select in the nVidia CP you can select the primary gaming monitor and I believe you can have the monitor go dark or black maybe even turn off signal.
not quite sure because I use both monitors, the other monitor is for monitoring and such.

yes under SLI applet..
