Tried this too before inventing my own way. I could barely reach the gas with the right side of my foot and this wasn't safe as sometimes my foot slipped off the brake pedal. The gas is just too far and much lower from the brake pedal.

Or people like me with outward-pointing feet, where the traditional sweeping heel-and-toe hurts like all hell.

Looks like it has a lot of potential. I can't help but notice the sounds seem a bit artificial and the handling is pretty dodgy.

It's almost as if you're using a keyboard (if you are, ignore this point). It lacks the smoothness of something like Gran Turismo. When you switch from a left to right direction, it appears to jump rather than turn... I hope that makes sense... I know what I want to say in my head, but articulating it is somewhat more challenging.

I regret selling my G25 everytime I read a new article about this game. I might have to get another wheel set this time around just to play it.

I see where you're coming from. I can explain what you're seeing.

I'll say now i was using a controller since using a keyboard for a racing game is blasphemy in my eyes, plus i've got a bit more brake/accelerator control with the R2/L2 on my contoller. The glitchy, jumpy feel and look you're seeing is much, much more dominant in this free camera mode than it is when you're actually playing it and driving around, but there are times where it'll skip a bunch of frames or stutter under hard braking coming up to corners (which is REALLY annoying), as if those frames don't exist and it's skipped to ones that do. This can be partially alleviated with triple buffering, but not completely ridden of. There are times where the car moves (i noticed this mostly in roof camera where you can just see the bonnet only at the bottom of your screen and a bit of the window) very realistically, but there are also times where the sounds are a bit of a let down (changing down under heavy braking), however i will protest that the approaching high speed car sounds are the best i've heard from any racing game. The dopler effect still needs work when a car passes (a lot, actually), but the approaching car sound is very nice. It varies car to car because it may be custom to each car and not a generic one set to all cars, but who knows. I could be very wrong on that.

The game is still pre-alpha, and the dev team have recently started to go over a physics overhaul/tweak that is, for some stupid arse reason, being blocked to junior members (meaning no more 1 update per month. Now it's 0) for the time being.. as if we haven't got screwed over already...

I agree, the actual effects in the sound are amazing.. I just hope the samples are of a higher quality. Of course, all these issues of physics, sounds and graphics are expected from a game in alpha, especially one using such a "new" leadership/funding software development style.

I just hope it all comes good in the end, looks highly promising smile.gif
