Megalodon induced insanity(or z87)

Thread Starter
So as if two days ago I rebuilt my system upgrading from an x58(dfi lanparty) and an i7 930, to a z87(ASRock z87e m-itx) and an i5 4670k. Now everything in my system is running great! Except my razer megalodon. Prior to this upgrade I had no issues with the headset, aside from the occasional(bi-monthly at most) crash were it would just play a single high pitched tone till I disconnected and reconnected it.
However now, it has issues being recognized, massive amounts of cracking and popping when using VoIP and inevitably crashes to the high pitch buzz or just stops working altogether, in 30min or less. However it doesn't crash when I watch something on YouTube and te cracking and popping is less pronounced there.
I have found one other posting a similar issue somewhere else but he had no responses or solution, he was using a different board but it was still a z87 ASRock boar.
The other thread I found.

My system:
ASRock Z87E
I5 4670k
2 x 4gb G.Skill Ares 1600
Sapphire HD 7870 XT (taheti Le)
2 x Intel gen2 80gb SSD's
1 Asus DVD RW

Help me Overclock.net Comunity, you're y only hope!

To me, this sounds like a faulty motherboard audio unit. You are receiving a signal generated by the built in amplification process... I'd get a sound card and work your way around the faulty component. Unless your motherboard was cheap in which case, I'd just replace the motherboard.

It could be because of that weird problem with 1st gen haswell and usb 3.0. I cant remember what the issue was off my head. But something like the usb 3.0 ports time out or something.

It is widely known that USB-headsets always have some kind of problems with new mobos. It doesn't really matter which brand the mobo is.

It is not an issue wit hthe motherboards built in audio, it's a USB headset that has it's own USB sound card.

I have tried it on both USB 2 and 3 ports, and the issue you are referring to was with USB 3 drives not waking from suspend, This is happening before I even get to a suspend mode.

based on testing it is appearing to be an issue with intel's 8 series usb chipset drivers, as all my other USB devices work perfectly.
