Basically I attatched the H60 ontp the gpu die and secured it using zip ties. I put it in my pc, my pc worked for about 5 minutes then all of a sudden it shut down and I could smell smoke. I removed the gpu and took the H60 off the gpu. I could smell smoke directly from the gpu die, and then I could see a really small, like 1mm sort of mark/scorch mark on the actual gpu die itself.

This is the picture I took afterwards, ignore the orange circle that smudge rubbed off eventually. The yellow circle is the origin of the smell of smoke. It doesnt look as if a actual transistor has burned, its just something has burnt on the die and that is the remnant..a small spot of something burnt. Hard to explain.

In all honesty if anyone knows a way to fix this thing for less than £170 I would do it, and then sell the card or maybe keep it and fold on it like I originally bought the card for frown.gif

you didnt put tim?
just ziptied the H60 directly?

no no, i put some tim on. I used PK nano. I just took that pic after I cleaned the tim off.

Also just remembered, I didnt have any cooling on the vrms or those black memory chips. I literally ran the pic for a minute to check temps redface.gif
