I am praying to God that the new mini has a retina display, for me 8" is the perfect size, at least it felt like it when I was using the mini. The Galaxy 3 8" Tab would be nice, but the resolution is too low. My phone's 4.3" 800x480 has a higher ppi than it (~220 vs 189), I don't think I could do anything lower than 200ppi.

I completely agree about everything in this post, Android on a tab doesn't feel right for some reason, it might have to do with the drastic variance in specs, but to me it felt rather unpolished. I have yet to use a W8 tablet, but if it is anything like my windows phone, then it should be great. I have a Lumia 822 and love everything about it except the lack of apps (I knew this beforehand, but I never really buy apps so it seemed like a moot point at the time). Also, you (for the most part) cannot go wrong with apple support. Mom dropped her MBP and broke the display, they still replaced it for free.
@Jellis I also agree with your statement. How is a 12.9 inch tablet more portable than an 11.6 "netbook" (not atom/amd E series) or more productive than said convertibles\ultrabook? And if those are not the goals of this size of a tablet what are?
