What he said...they're one in the same. There's a reason android has an inconsistent user experience from one device to the next.

There's four kinds of marketshare here though...

 

1. Quarterly sales of smartphones running different OSes.

2. Overall sales of smartphones running different OSes.

3. Quarterly sales of smartphones from an individual company.

4. Overall sales of smartphones from an individual company.

 

Android is winning 1 & 2 by far, Apple is on top in 3, and perhaps 4 also. Samsung is right behind.
