The v2.0 was just a small change in the fan profile due to the general consensus that the v1.x is loud at idle.
There's no reason to assume Silverstone haven't been busy in the last two years with a new SFX PSU given that they are one of the main producers of cases which require SFX PSUs. The gold model has been pretty popular as far as I've seen in build logs.
Tony Ou said SFX PSU design is difficult because there was loads of posters on [H] who seemed to think a PSU company can quickly design and bring to market a fanless platinum 550W SFX as if it was just a matter of it being designed by Seasonic rather than Silverstone. Forgetting the fact that the last SFX PSU made by Seasonic was in like 2006 and it's only 350W and only bronze rated. Plenty posters also didn't realise that Silverstone designed the ST45SF-G (gold) themselves after FSP didn't want to make further investment in the ST45SF (bronze) design. Tony dropped many hints that there will be a 500W+ SFX from Silverstone in the near future, but he couldn't promise any date.
In other news there was a design shown at Computex by High Power for an oversized SFX. It has the standard 125mm x 63.5mm mounting, but much deeper which allows it to spread out the components more and include a 120mm fan. From [H]:
