My 4.4 i5 3570K overclock - Page 3

I found that my Chip can do 6.737GHz on ln2 an run 4.9GHz at 1.25v or 4.7GHz@1.176v. These good chips are out in the world just need found.

That's such a wicked chip, as I said before, mine needed 1.29 for 4.4ghz. One thing I did realize, which I think is common in all 3570k's, possibly 3770k's too, is that they can OC to 4.4 without a major voltage increase, but anything above 4.4 needs a ridiculous voltage increase. My 3570k is 30hour prime stable at 4.4 w/ 1.29 but trying to clock it to 4.5/4.6 needs more than 1.3 volts, I couldn't even stabilize it at 4.6 using 1.35 volts.
Anyway, if it's stable after 24 hours, which it looks like it might be, you've got a pretty nice chip thumb.gif

Ivys can do 24hrs Prime and still throw up WHEA errors. In my case the most difficult WHEA to find revealed itself on its own months after I thought I was stable, when I left my PC on for about a week while I used it. For reference I'd run the whole gamut - several hours of IBT, Memtest86+ for 12 hours, HCI memtest to 1000%, 24 hours of P95, and only stopped after they'd completed with no WHEAs. It's actually kind of annoying since they complete exactly the same way whether WHEA errors happen or not. I think it's worth checking Event Log, and checking it once a week at least for the first few weeks.

So far no WHEA errors....What exactly is a WHEA error? Im still new to this but I didn't see any of those errors in the event log. I'm not a heavy computer user so I'm not too worried about it being stable for a week straight. My computer is never on for more than 5 or 6 hours usually.

I haven't tried going over 4.4 and I don't think I will unless I need to someday. I just want everday reliability with a long life span.

Use search feature as well as reading the threads

Bad overclocks can lead to many things. For example, a new user does a cpu and ram overclock. Both aren't "stable for a week straight" however, the lack of knowledge wont let this person know he can become a victim of data corruption, then when all your school/work files are corrupted or your hard drive dies, you won't know why and you'll be either buying new hardware or making the same mistake twice

There isn't a 20% or 50% or 95% stable, people will say keep your "OC stable for what you do"

but if your overclock isn't stable for every situation your computer can be put through, you're overclock isn't stable!!!

gl mate, lot of good info in this forum
