My computer is going CRAZY

Thread Starter
Hi guys,

My computer is making me go rage these few days, I cant even play a game of Dota 2 without it going to no signal every 1 min then I'll have to force restart my computer(It happens the most in dota 2 but I'll also get no signal while browsing the net ) . Sometimes when it goes to no signal mode and i replug the USB cable I will get the message “Display driver stopped responding and has recovered'.

Yesturday I couldnt even turn my computer on as it was going in the 'On / off loop'

Today while playing dota I got blue screen.

So i guess I wanna try to clear EVERYTHING from my computer, may i know how to clear everything from my harddisk? If the problem still persist after I clean install everything I'll just send my PSU/MOBO and GPU for repair/RMA.

Thanks! smile.gif

Computer crashed approximately 3 times while writing this.

You will need your windows 7 home install disc. Once you insert that disc and boot from it you will be able to format your drive and re-install windows. This can but may not fix your issue but of course save any data you find imoportant on a flash drive or another drive before doing this.

To determine what may be the issue, try running hwinfo64 (download here: http://www.guru3d.com/files_details/hwinfo64_download.html) while playing dota2 and make sure to log to file before starting. Then hopefully it will save and give some results. If you upload that log file here we maybe able to determine a possible cause. It may just be time to replace the thermal paste on cpu or gpu or both, depending on how long you have had them.

edit: if your getting constant crashes now there must be a major issue, check all cables and wires. Was there a recent new installation of a part? Check all voltages, temperatures and clocks in hwinfo64 see if you see anything crazy happening? Are you currently overclocked?

Bump the voltage on your GPU by a tiny bit to see if it helps.

Thanks for the replys guys! I'm currenly out so I wont be able to do anything.

I have not changed any hardware in my computer only gotten a new keyboard haha. I'll download hwinfo when i get back home. My i know which programme I should use to increase the voltage? and how much should i increase it by? And how do I update the bios?

Sorry, pretty new to all this software stuff, only thing I updated on my rig is probably the GPU's driver.

Thanks! smile.gif

EDIT: Downloaded Hwinfo, how do I use it? I went to sensors > Start logging and the file got saved as a CVS file, how to I read the file so that I can post a picture of it here?

Do you guys think that my copmuter is always crashing because of a faulty HDD? Sometimes I do hear some creaking coming from my computer which seems to be coming from my HDD (tho i cannot confirm this) Another reason why I assume this is because whenever I play BF3(its downlaoded on my SSD) I dont get crashes that often however when i play dota(loaded on my HDD) I always seems to crash.

EDIT: Nevermind, I think its pretty much my GPU's fault that causing all this, was playing dota 2 when my computer went to no signal. Restarted it over 10 times but nothing happened so I just left my GPU plugged in my MOBO but removed the power cables and plugged the hmdi into the onboard graphics and the computer started to work...

Thanks
