Overclock Problem (degraded performance)

Hello all,

I OC'd my E6400 to 3.2GHz. I then decided to push it further in order to see how high I could take it. Well, I got to 410FSB Orthos stable for 6 hours.

I then went on and set FSB to 415. I ran at this setting for about 8 hours. I kept getting random reboots while using instant messenger and other light tasks.

So, I decided to bring the FSB back down to the stable 410.

The problem is I am getting extremely slow SuperPi scores now

I originally clocked 410FSB at 17.9xx seconds. Now I am getting 18.4xx seconds(1M SuperPi)
I recorded my other SuperPi times. And even at the low FSB of 405 I was getting 18.2xx seconds.

I don't know why it is now going so slowly. Something is clearly wrong. I would like some suggestions as to what to do, so I can get my CPU running at the proper speeds =/

Thanks. Suggestions appreciated.

You probably have some background task running now that wasn't running when you were testing before. That will slow it down every time.

There's nothing running. Also, I didn't mention before:

Even at my previously stable 410FSB (orthos 6hours) I am now failing Orthos after 15mins. Exactly the same settings but I fail now. This is strange.

I think there's physical damage somewhere?!

My temps are 63C Orthos small-fft load using 410FSB @ 3.28GHz.

I am now stable at 410FSB (like normal). This is very strange indeed. I put my FSB way back to 400 while not changing any other settings.
I kept it there for about 5 hours while using my PC as normally. I then changed it back to 410 and I'm stable again.

The strange thing is, my RAM is using those crappy PROMO chips and WERE NOT stable at any time when the CPU was OC'd. But now, they are stable for over 4 hours on Orthos Large FFT. Usually they would fail after 15mins-1 hour or so >.<

I don't know what is going on with my system. However, I'm still getting slow times with SuperPi 1M. I should be hitting 18.2xx seconds and not 18.4xx s.

I'm gonna play around a bit and even reset BIOS settings if my times don't reach normal.

**I reset BIOS settings then put them back to my stable OC settings** All is fine now =-)
