velociraptor remove shroud to get 2.5"?

Hey. i was thinking about getting a velociraptor disk. but is it a 2.5" disc in a shroud/heatsink converter to 3.5"?


if so. what would happend if i removed it and mounted it in a 2.5" bay on a Corsair air 540 where it is "No" airflow trhough hdd's? will it overheat?

Is there no fan blowing towards the hdds.

I don't think the Velociraptors have the standard 2.5" height.

Those drives do run quite hot compared to over drives so I wouldn't recommend it.
