All things being equal x79 is really expensive. It's not a HUGE
upgrade. I have an i7-930 sli titans and wanted to go 3, as well as get REAL
SATA 6GB ports. I am right now having a hard time convincing myself that I REALLY NEED an upgraded chip.
Check around since for me my gut tells me you are not running SLI, your games run fine, and if you can spend $100 on a new mobo or cheaper second hand it's a good hold me down, until you are READY
to deal some good upgrading.
BS aside though.... IF you have the money to spend
, upgrade in september, the EVGA Dark just came out, seems to be the most up to date / best featured mobo, and the new 4930K/4960X chip comes out. Prices may be going down / you could get a better deal.
